About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Establish and lead the enterprise-wide data governance strategy to ensure data integrity, quality, security, and compliance
Define and implement enterprise data governance frameworks, including policies, standards, and operating models
Establish data ownership, stewardship, and accountability across business and technical teams
Lead governance councils and cross-functional working groups to drive alignment and adoption
Develop and oversee enterprise data quality strategy, including data profiling, monitoring, and remediation processes
Establish data quality metrics, KPIs, and reporting to measure accuracy, completeness, and reliability
Implement tools and processes to proactively identify and resolve data issues
Establish processes to ensure reliable, efficient, and scalable data operations across the organization
Oversee ongoing data operations, including monitoring data pipelines, issue resolution, and operational support
Partner with Data Engineering to drive automation, standardization, and operational excellence across data pipelines and platforms
Govern data assets within Azure environments, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and related tools
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, data privacy laws) and internal policies
Partner with Data Engineering, BI, and Analytics teams to align governance, architecture, and operational processes
Lead training and communication efforts to increase adoption of data governance practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (Data, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or related field)
10+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles, with progressive leadership experience
Strong experience working within Azure data environments (Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory)
Proven experience building and scaling data governance and data quality programs
Experience supporting or overseeing data operations or DataOps practices
Experience in healthcare, specialty pharmacy, or other regulated environments strongly preferred
Deep understanding of data quality frameworks, metadata management, and data lineage
Familiarity with governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica) preferred
Strong knowledge of data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, etc.)
