About the role

  • Oversee and execute strategic and operational global trade compliance initiatives across the NA region
  • Ensure adherence to Solenis’ import and export programs, mitigate compliance risks, and drive regulatory alignment
  • Identify and assess trade compliance requirements, develop solutions, and coordinate regional implementation plans
  • Support cross-functional projects and partner with other regions to ensure seamless global compliance operations
  • Provide regional leadership across customs, excise, sanctions, and trade compliance within NA
  • Interpret and apply trade regulations for countries of operation and assess the impact of regulatory changes
  • Ensure operations comply with both local and international trade laws and regulations
  • Lead trade risk assessments, internal audits, investigations, and manage responses to external audits
  • Align resources to support trade compliance and enforce customs processes and policies
  • Analyze trade activities to identify risk areas and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Champion the development and execution of globally integrated trade compliance programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in Business, International Trade, Regulatory Affairs, Law, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in NA trade compliance
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. and North American trade compliance regulations, customs procedures, export controls (EAR), and international sanctions/embargoes
  • Experience managing import/export compliance, product classification, customs valuation, FTAs, licensing, and denied/restricted party screening
  • Understanding of cross-functional supply chain operations and how they impact trade compliance risk
  • Familiarity with regulatory risk management, anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws (e.g., FCPA, UK Bribery Act)
  • Experience supporting or leading compliance projects, audits, and process improvements
  • Proficiency with trade compliance systems (e.g., SAP-GTS)
