About the role

  • Review, draft, and negotiate Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and other data privacy-related contracts
  • Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to evaluate risks and compliance requirements for new projects and technologies
  • Ensure compliance with regulations such as the GDPR, CCPA, and other global data privacy laws
  • Utilize tools such as OneTrust to manage privacy compliance programs, conduct assessments, and maintain records
  • Provide expertise in implementing and maintaining privacy technology solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align privacy and technology strategies with legal obligations
  • Maintain up-to-date privacy documentation, including policies, procedures, and training materials
  • Stay informed of legislative developments in data privacy, technology law, and AI-related regulations globally
  • Prepare reports and presentations for internal stakeholders on the implications of new laws
  • Monitor, analyze, and advise on new laws and regulations related to artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other emerging technologies
  • Develop internal policies and guidelines to address compliance with AI-related regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, paralegal studies, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a paralegal or legal specialist in data privacy, technology law, or a related area
  • Hands-on experience with OneTrust or similar privacy management tools
  • Strong understanding of global data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, CPRA) and emerging AI regulations
  • Experience in DPAs and tech contracts (e.g., SaaS, licensing agreements, and IP agreements)
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory frameworks for AI and new technologies
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001 or other security standards is a plus
  • Excellent contract review, drafting, and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and communication skills to convey complex legal concepts effectively
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: advanced use of Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience using platforms such as SharePoint for document storage, version control, and collaboration
  • Experience with e-signature tools like DocuSign or Adobe Acrobat Sign for contract execution
