About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct GIS-based site suitability analyses to identify suitable locations for ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) installations
- Analyze and process topographic data, cadastral information, land use and protected-area data for acquisition and project development
- Produce professional map products, layouts, dashboards and analyses for internal and external project communication
- Administer and further develop the GIS infrastructure (ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS)
- Maintain, structure and optimize geodatabases (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS)
- Integrate and quality-assure geodata from various sources (ALKIS, ATKIS, protected areas, grid infrastructure, GRK etc.)
- Automate recurring analyses and processes (e.g., using ModelBuilder, Python, SQL, R)
- Support the further development of digital workflows and contribute to company-wide digitization initiatives
- Provide training and technical support to colleagues in the use of GIS applications
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to exchange information and clarify requirements for solar plant projects
- Continuously monitor and evaluate solar and photovoltaic technologies as well as industry-specific developments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Geoinformatics, Geography, Geodesy, Environmental Planning, Spatial Planning or a comparable qualification
- At least 2 years of practical professional experience in GIS, ideally in the context of renewable energy, infrastructure or real estate projects
- Very good knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online or QGIS
- Confident handling of GIS data, formats, analyses and their interpretation
- Experience with geodatabases (PostgreSQL/PostGIS)
- Knowledge of Python, R or SQL for automation and data analysis is an advantage
- Confident use of official geodata and planning basis
- Structured, analytical and independent working style
- Excellent German (C2/native) and good English skills (B2)
