About the role
- Strategic legal advice and establishment of the legal function
- Build and structure the internal legal department
- Strategic counsel to the executive management on all legal matters
- Development of legal standards, processes and compliance frameworks
- Handling corporate law matters (shareholder agreements, capital measures, corporate governance)
- Preparation and support for board and investor meetings
- Monitoring and interpretation of all relevant regulatory requirements in recycling, waste law, environmental law, and energy and circular-economy legislation
- Ensuring compliance with authorities and certification bodies
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, including supplier and waste/disposal agreements, technology and license agreements, collaboration and research agreements, employment and service contracts
- Advice on intellectual property (patents, technology protection)
- Identification and management of legal risks
- Management and coordination of external law firms, authorities and industry associations
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer (Wirtschaftsjurist or fully qualified lawyer) with completed First and Second State Examinations or equivalent international qualification
- Minimum 5 years professional experience, ideally in a large law firm, an SME or a start-up in a technology or industrial environment
- Knowledge of environmental, waste or energy law is an advantage
- Strong interface and communication skills to collaborate with external law firms, management and the legal departments of our shareholders are required
- Experience in contract drafting and corporate law
- Commercial understanding, pragmatism and a hands-on mentality
- Ability to present complex issues in a clear and understandable way
- Team player with a strong sense of responsibility
- Excellent German and English skills are required
