About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define and articulate a medium- and long-term technology and data vision and roadmap aligned with Soil Capital’s business strategy, products, and data ambitions
Provide an external perspective: stay ahead of industry trends in AI/ML, data engineering, and automation within AgTech, and translate them into concrete opportunities for the company
Serve as the technology voice at the executive level — ensuring the technology roadmap receives the space, investment, and prioritization it deserves alongside product and commercial priorities
Own the automation strategy, including deployment positioning within customer environments
Co-own the AI strategy with the data and product teams
Own the platform and data analytics architecture
Support and elevate the engineering team by fostering a culture of technical curiosity, AI fluency, experimentation, and continuous learning
Identify opportunities to enrich the platform
Accelerate the path from proof-of-concept to production — bridging the gap between data science exploration and scalable, reliable platform features.

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years of experience in software engineering or platform/infrastructure roles, with significant experience as a senior architect, VP of Engineering, or Head of Technology
Strong hands-on experience with modern cloud infrastructure technologies (Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures), data platforms, and AI/ML technologies
Proven experience defining and executing a technology strategy in a product-led, data-rich environment — ideally in a scale-up or fast-growing SaaS context
Experience accelerating the productization of data science and AI work (POC → MVP → production)
Familiarity with AgTech, environmental data, carbon accounting, or climate-related platforms
Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, data lakehouse architectures, or model-agnostic AI platform design. French and/or Dutch language skills (working language is English).
