About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Understand the challenges and objectives of data use and perform feasibility tests to scientifically validate that the data meet the intended goals.
  • Design and implement natural language processing pipelines to enrich patient data from unstructured or semi-structured sources and provide quality indicators for the results.
  • Tune and optimize machine learning algorithms.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of tools for patient data exploration and for mapping to standard vocabularies (e.g., SNOMED CT).
  • Monitor technological developments and participate in defining data best practices across the group.
  • Help implement data operational best practices within the data platform.
  • As part of your duties, you may process personal health data. You will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of these data in compliance with ISO 27001.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or equivalent.
  • Significant experience (minimum 2 years) in natural language processing, ideally in healthcare.
  • Proficiency in methods for generalizing and validating results.
  • Project experience using data science languages such as Python or R, including use of machine learning libraries like PyTorch, Transformers, or Unsloth.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Knowledge of Health Data Warehouses (EDS) or Health Data Platforms (PDS) is a plus.
  • Experience implementing data standards and models such as the OMOP Common Data Model, as well as mapping support tools.
  • Recognized for rigor, analytical ability, and attention to detail.
  • Autonomous, curious, and proactive, continually keeping up with technology trends; you enjoy extracting insights from data using the latest technologies and methods.
  • Enjoys sharing knowledge widely to improve colleagues' practices.
