About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure integration solutions in Java
Define and review integration architectures (synchronous and asynchronous), communication patterns, and service contracts
Serve as the team's technical reference, guiding development best practices, code reviews, and design decisions
Lead technical refinement of requirements and break down complex solutions into viable deliverables
Support the team's technical development and growth through mentoring and pairing
Ensure delivery quality through automated testing, observability, and proper failure handling

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong experience in Java development (recent LTS versions) and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot)
Proficiency in systems integration: REST/SOAP APIs, contracts, versioning, and error handling
Experience with messaging and asynchronous processing (e.g., SQS, Kafka, RabbitMQ)
Knowledge of distributed architectures, microservices, and integration patterns
Experience with relational databases (SQL) and data modeling
Hands-on experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and version control (Git)
Track record of technical leadership, mentoring, and influencing architectural decisions
Good communication skills and the ability to articulate technical solutions across diverse teams
Experience with cloud environments (AWS) and containers/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Knowledge of observability (e.g., Datadog, OpenTelemetry)
Experience with security applied to integrations (OAuth, mTLS, certificates, SAML/SSO)
Experience with JVM tuning and performance optimization
Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design practices and hexagonal architecture
