About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for the planning, development and implementation of comprehensive benefit programs
- Will oversee existing plans and programs as well as monitor performance of providers and third-party relationships
- Leads delivery and execution of high-quality comprehensive benefit plans and programs
- Responsible for request for proposal and audit projects, including evaluation, service and cost negotiation and selection process in conjunction with external consultants
- Leads benefits annual enrollment process including implementation of new benefit plans and program or changes with vendors
- Provides guidance for escalated compliance and administration questions from the Employee Service Center management team
- Responsible for ensuring that benefit plans comply with federal, state, local and provincial laws and regulations, and that processes and controls are in place to ensure ongoing compliance
- Possesses a strong understanding of industry trends and market practice to assess competitiveness of benefit plans and programs
- Educate HR community on benefit initiatives by developing and leading informational webinars
- Lead the development of employee communications related to benefit plans including print and electronic media
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience, required
- A minimum of 10 years broad based and progressive experience designing and managing benefits, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership role
- Demonstrated track record of innovating and evolving benefit plan design and administration based on the need of the Company and to attract and retain talent
- Demonstrated problem solving and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to develop and manage productive vendor relationships
- Experience with due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, ERISA regulations and other regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in PC-based applications, including Workday and Microsoft Office programs required
