Key responsibilities & impact- The Area Sales Manager plans, leads, organizes, and controls the activities of the assigned sales representatives within a specified area.
- Supports and enables the sales representatives by providing objectives, training, and direction.
- Provides customer service strategy and support for area and implements marketing initiatives.
- Analyzes and assesses market conditions and implements marketing initiatives.
- Analyzes and prepares sales forecasts and reports.
- Collaborates with sales force in setting and achieving short and long-term sales goals.
- Identifies critical skills for sales force and assesses and assigns sales territories.
- Reviews and audits expense reports.
- Prepares and administers sales budget.
- Accountable for territory profit margin and sales growth goals achieved through training and coaching sales force.
- Hires, trains, assesses, and evaluates staff performance.
- Coaches and directs the activities of the work group.
- Obtains and allocates resources as required.
- Interacts with other department heads and sales force to assure quality service levels.
- Identifies new sourcing opportunities and maintains current customer service levels.
- Coordinates special events, develops marketing tools, and assists the Division Vice President.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically requires a bachelor's degree
- five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in industrial sales
- three (3) years of management experience
- Experience in fluid power systems, applications, and design
