About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Architect, develop, and implement scalable security systems, protocols, and automation to safeguard Socure’s applications, infrastructure, and sensitive data.
  • Conduct threat modeling and vulnerability assessments, proactively identify areas of risk, and drive remediation efforts.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to embed security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Monitor security events, analyze security alerts, and lead incident response activities, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
  • Ensure Socure’s solutions comply with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOC2, PCI DSS) and security industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain security policies, documentation, and tooling to enable self-service and promote secure engineering practices.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior security and software engineers.
  • Lead security architecture reviews, advocate for strong authentication, authorization, encryption, and data privacy across all services.
  • Partner with internal/external stakeholders on security audits, assessments, and compliance initiatives.
  • Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends, continuously enhancing Socure’s security posture.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity or security engineering, ideally within a high-scale, cloud-based, or fintech/SaaS environment.
  • Deep expertise designing and implementing security controls across cloud and on-prem infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Strong experience with application security, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and incident response.
  • Hands-on proficiency in security automation, network and data protection, authentication/authorization mechanisms, and encryption.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks (GDPR, SOC2, PCI DSS, etc.) and security standards.
  • Proven track record mentoring engineers and influencing secure development practices.
  • Advanced problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
