About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Architect, develop, and implement scalable security systems, protocols, and automation to safeguard Socure’s applications, infrastructure, and sensitive data.
- Conduct threat modeling and vulnerability assessments, proactively identify areas of risk, and drive remediation efforts.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to embed security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Monitor security events, analyze security alerts, and lead incident response activities, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
- Ensure Socure’s solutions comply with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOC2, PCI DSS) and security industry standards.
- Develop and maintain security policies, documentation, and tooling to enable self-service and promote secure engineering practices.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior security and software engineers.
- Lead security architecture reviews, advocate for strong authentication, authorization, encryption, and data privacy across all services.
- Partner with internal/external stakeholders on security audits, assessments, and compliance initiatives.
- Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends, continuously enhancing Socure’s security posture.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or a related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity or security engineering, ideally within a high-scale, cloud-based, or fintech/SaaS environment.
- Deep expertise designing and implementing security controls across cloud and on-prem infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Strong experience with application security, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Hands-on proficiency in security automation, network and data protection, authentication/authorization mechanisms, and encryption.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks (GDPR, SOC2, PCI DSS, etc.) and security standards.
- Proven track record mentoring engineers and influencing secure development practices.
- Advanced problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
