About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead medical strategy and external engagement for the VEXAS disease area within the Vonjo (pacritinib) Medical Affairs organization
- Serve as the lead medical voice for VEXAS, driving the US medical strategy and partnering closely with Field Medical to engage and educate healthcare providers (HCPs), medical organizations, payers, and patient advocacy groups
- Serve as the medical lead on the Brand Team and collaborate cross-functionally to advance shared business goals
- Provide strategic direction for medical strategy, brand-aligned tactics, and external clinician engagement across academic, community, and multidisciplinary care settings
- Partner with the Field Medical Team to develop and strengthen KOL and key institution engagement plans
- Collaborate with Field Medical to identify resource needs and co-develop field materials and tactics specific to VEXAS
- Lead planning and execution of advisory boards and educational activities, including webinars, medical roundtables, symposia, and congress presence
- Generate and share medical insights with internal partners, using them to refine strategy and tactics
- Build strong collaborative relationships across Market Access, Medical Information, Clinical Development, Sales, and Marketing
- Contribute to evidence generation projects, real-world evidence studies, and publications supporting the VEXAS disease area
- Support launch readiness through disease education, articulation of unmet need, and evidence generation planning
- Uphold the collaborative culture of Hematology Medical Affairs—one that respects and appreciates every team member while encouraging one another toward excellence and a shared purpose
Requirements
What you’ll need- MD, PhD, or PharmD
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Associate or Medical Director
- Ability to travel up to 50%, primarily domestic
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate complex scientific concepts for varied audiences
- Demonstrated ability to build meaningful, bi-directional relationships with the medical community
- Strong scientific and clinical acumen paired with strategic and analytical thinking
- Proven leadership across core Medical Affairs functions, such as evidence generation, publications, medical education, and strategy development
- A collaborative, cross-functional mindset with the motivation to work effectively across all levels of the organization
- A results-driven approach marked by urgency, solution-orientation, and innovation
- A self-starting, hands-on team player with strong interpersonal skills, comfortable rolling up their sleeves in a fast-paced environment
