About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build solutions and services that operate, protect, and govern Snowflake’s security posture across 600+ million assets and AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Automate security controls across cloud environments, including IAM, detection and monitoring, configuration management, and data protection
- Build real-time security monitoring, logging, and alerting using Snowflake technologies
- Define and maintain security baselines, policies, and standards for public cloud platforms
- Design and operate continuous, AI-augmented pipelines that ingest posture and telemetry, score risk, and surface high-impact issues
- Own security workstreams end to end
- Conduct design reviews, mentor team members, and provide technical guidance
- Apply software engineering best practices including documentation, testing, and observability
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of software engineering experience preferred, or equivalent experience
- Experience designing and owning secure, large-scale systems
- Working knowledge of secure architecture principles and threat modeling
- Experience building software in one or more languages such as Java, C++, Go, or Python
- Familiarity with distributed architectures and scalable APIs such as gRPC and REST
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering and cross-functional stakeholders
- Commitment to data-driven, scalable decision-making
- Experience applying AI/ML to security problems and building supporting data pipelines
- Proficiency writing, debugging, and optimizing SQL for data-driven security operations
- Strong grasp of algorithms and data structures
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and IaC tools such as Terraform or Pulumi
- Experience designing scalable, concurrent, resilient services for high-demand, multi-cloud environments
