About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the company's technical accounting authority for complex revenue transactions
  • Provide accounting guidance for new products, strategic partnerships, and evolving commercial models
  • Review and assess complex customer contracts, including SaaS, professional services, managed services, multi-element arrangements, consumption-based pricing, and strategic partnerships
  • Partner with Legal, Deal Desk, and Sales during negotiations for complex, nonstandard deals
  • Translate ASC 606 and other accounting guidance into actionable commercial options
  • Prepare technical accounting memoranda supporting revenue conclusions
  • Research emerging accounting guidance and recommend policy updates
  • Lead technical revenue accounting support for new product offerings, including performance obligation identification, SSP evaluation, and contract modifications
  • Advise executive leadership on revenue implications for strategic transactions
  • Translate technical accounting requirements into business guidance for non-accounting stakeholders
  • Support month-end close activities
  • Drive process improvement and revenue system implementation projects
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes using AI
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of revenue accounting professionals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA required
  • 10+ years of progressive experience, including public accounting and publicly traded SaaS or technology companies
  • Deep expertise in ASC 606 and technical accounting for complex software/SaaS business models
  • Experience working with consumption-based revenue models at scale strongly preferred
  • Experience partnering with Product, Pricing, Legal, GTM, and executive leadership on new product launches and innovative commercial models
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills
  • Ability to explain complex accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing accounting teams
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload, and multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience with SFDC, Workday, and revenue accounting systems
  • Passion for technology and demonstrated interest in leveraging AI and automation
  • Experience driving finance transformation is a plus
  • CPA certification must be held as a required qualification
