About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide a comprehensive technical surveying service focused on effective delivery of maintenance services
  • Investigate and advise on complex maintenance issues including building disrepair, structural failure, and defect analysis
  • Provide day-to-day technical advice on design, construction, maintenance, and repair to stakeholders, delivery teams, and contractors
  • Inspect properties, diagnose damp, mould and condensation issues, and recommend remedial solutions
  • Prepare reports, specifications, drawings, contract documents, working drawings, and detailed cost estimates
  • Ensure works are completed safely, to required standards and specifications, within efficient delivery and customer satisfaction expectations
  • Manage maintenance contracts through site visits, performance monitoring, and liaison and negotiation with contractors and consultants
  • Maintain high-quality data within property systems
  • Maintain detailed local knowledge of customer, asset, and investment needs
  • Develop capability through continual personal and professional development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Educated to degree level or vocational qualification in a relevant construction-related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of the causes of damp and mould and HHSRS, especially regarding Awaab's Law legislation
  • Up-to-date knowledge of technical, statutory, regulatory, and legislative requirements, standards, and best practice for maintenance services
  • Ability to prepare and interpret specifications and schedules of work using bespoke or National/published Schedules of Rates/Works
  • Ability to plan, track, and forecast safe delivery of customer-focused services, works, and expenditure within agreed timescales and budgets
  • Commercial acumen
  • Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation, with focus on compliance
  • Proficient use of IT systems including Microsoft Office suite, with intermediate Excel skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Access to a car
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Successful candidate subject to a Basic DBS check
