About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct thorough and objective investigations into violations of Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, including sensitive content such as child sexual exploitation
- Identify violation trends and patterns by reviewing and analyzing internal data and conducting outside research
- Develop proposals for responding to violation trends through detection, policy change, and/or feature enhancements
- Own operational workflows, including industry-wide information sharing and law enforcement referrals
- Recommend tooling optimization and develop and improve processes
- Work with internal stakeholders on ad hoc safety-related projects
- Own new workflow launches end-to-end
- Develop and conduct training for other Trust & Safety team members
- Provide support to the global Trust & Safety team, potentially including a standing schedule with a weekend day
Requirements
What you’ll need- Comfort working within a content moderation environment
- Ability to problem-solve independently and with peers, structuring ambiguous business challenges into actionable plans
- Strong analytical skills, including working with large data sets and providing insights through data visualization software such as Google Sheets, Looker, and Grafana
- Experience using data querying languages, including SQL, for investigative work
- Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams and management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and sound judgment
- Ability to prioritize, focus, thrive in a dynamic environment, and adapt to evolving business needs
- Proven track record of developing and implementing processes and identifying improvement opportunities
- Experience investigating criminality or abuse online or offline
- Experience working with product and engineering teams to develop trust and safety tools and solutions
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience in technology, safety, or a related field
- Flexible work hours, full-time availability, and weekends as needed
- Willingness and ability to work with sensitive, offensive, or disturbing content
