About the role
- Develop, maintain, and improve system-level power model predicting power consumption across components and use cases
- Understand, characterize, and model power consumption for wide array of system loads
- Integrate battery model (ESR) into runtime estimates and HW system requirements
- Collaborate with product and architecture teams to define use cases and power profiles
- Extract and integrate pre-silicon power estimates and provide architecture feedback
- Partner with submodule teams to gather power data and identify optimization opportunities
- Measure power and performance data from prototypes and validate models
- Provide data-driven power reduction recommendations
- Create and maintain documentation for power models, methodologies, and tests
Requirements
- BS/BA degree in Electrical Engineering, related field, or equivalent years of experience
- 7+ years of relevant experience in electrical or hardware engineering
- Knowledge of system architecture and subsystem metrics that impact performance for SOCs, Camera, Connectivity, Cellular, PMICs, and Battery
- Knowledge of power management concepts and power delivery
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Preferred: MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Preferred: Demonstrated experience developing and shipping consumer electronic products at scale
- Preferred: Experience with integrated circuit design such as VHDL or analog design
- Preferred: Knowledge of layout strategies to meet Power Delivery Network impedance targets or in deriving power impedance masks
- Preferred: Excellent process development and documentation skills
