About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Service, maintain, diagnose, and repair Volvo construction equipment and associated machinery within the designated region
  • Identify and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related faults using technical expertise and diagnostic equipment
  • Act as the primary customer contact, providing updates on machine status, repair progress, and recommended actions
  • Complete job documentation, inspection reports, timesheets, and electronic records accurately and in real time
  • Maintain safety, professionalism, housekeeping, and compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Identify opportunities to improve machine performance and maximise equipment uptime
  • Build strong customer relationships and act as a trusted technical expert

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, HGV Maintenance, or a related engineering discipline
  • Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction plant
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, drivetrains, electrics, and diagnostic systems
  • Advanced fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Flexibility to travel, work overtime, and support customer requirements when needed
  • Experience maintaining and repairing construction plant equipment
