About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Program, test, and commission Level 1 control systems for new installations of Pickle Lines (Rolling Mill Equipment) and other applications in the metals industry.
- Design and implementation of Level 1 control systems based on project requirements, SMS standards and similar reference projects
- Perform Level 1 control system programming based on the function descriptions for the equipment related to the project
- Collaborate with project management, mechanical, and Level 2 engineering teams
- Participate in integration testing of the control system before shipment to the job site
- Conduct on site commissioning and startup of Level 1 control systems for new plant installations
- Train customer personnel in maintenance and troubleshooting
- Service existing systems remotely and on-site interfacing with internal engineers and resources from other groups and locations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar degree
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an engineering role in metals or a similar industry
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers
- Experience with Logicad and/or Siemens TIA Portal preferred
- Pickle Line and/or Rolling Mill process knowledge preferred
- Problem solving skills especially while under time pressure during commissioning.
