About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Meet daily service repair needs and drive customer satisfaction
- Install, repair, and maintain field equipment
- Provide customer training as required
- Document inspections, maintenance, and repair work
- Order, install, and return parts while managing repair-parts cycle time
- Review logs for open issues and prepare customer reports
- Participate in service sales opportunities and revenue programs
- Maintain and calibrate tools and test equipment
- Assess equipment performance and recommend modifications or improvements
- Provide technical support to customers and service professionals
- Participate in site surveys, pilot service activities, and meetings
- Maintain communication with senior FSEs and Product Managers
- Control and minimize costs
- Travel to customer sites, including airports, correctional facilities, courthouses, and cruise ships
- Comply with health, safety, environmental, export-control, and security policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s degree, related trade certification, or military training in electrical, electronic, or mechanical fields
- Alternatively, 1–3 years of comparative related work and life experience in an electrical or mechanical field service role
- Computer literacy
- Competency with all programs in the MS Office Suite
- Aptitude for learning specialized software
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic systems and equipment
- Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, telephone, and customer-service skills
- Strong customer focus and teamwork orientation
- Responsiveness to customer issues
- Willingness and ability to travel at short notice
- Ability to pass TSA vetting and a federal background investigation when required
- Ability to obtain a U.S. personal security clearance when required
- Ability to lift/carry 80 lbs
- Ability to push/pull 200 lbs
- Ability to move/manipulate equipment weighing up to 1,000 lbs with assistance
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, turn, and work in unusual positions
- Ability to work safely in extreme environments around dangerous industrial equipment
- Willingness to work travel, overtime, and hours outside Monday–Friday when required
