About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Introduce and place new products with customers
  • Execute business initiatives and drive sales for long-term growth
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships with daily communications on pricing, product availability, and order management
  • Maintain current knowledge of Smithfield’s product management, marketing, R&D efforts in order to increase sales
  • Ensure prompt and equitable disposition of customer complaints or problems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of the dynamics of the food business industry or retail channels
  • Experience of customer-focused and fact-based selling, including IRI, Nielsen and Perishable Group data
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Respectful, approachable and team-oriented while building strong working relationships
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • May travel up to 80% of the time
