Sales Account Manager

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Introduce and place new products with customers
- Execute business initiatives and drive sales for long-term growth
- Establish and maintain customer relationships with daily communications on pricing, product availability, and order management
- Maintain current knowledge of Smithfield’s product management, marketing, R&D efforts in order to increase sales
- Ensure prompt and equitable disposition of customer complaints or problems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of the dynamics of the food business industry or retail channels
- Experience of customer-focused and fact-based selling, including IRI, Nielsen and Perishable Group data
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Respectful, approachable and team-oriented while building strong working relationships
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- May travel up to 80% of the time
