About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Reporting to the EVP, the Corporate Controller provides timely oversight of the Company's financial and accounting systems.
- Responsible for the oversight of several functions including treasury, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, risk management, insurance, financial reporting, budgeting, and financial business systems.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the accounting records, adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Produce timely financial reports and recommend appropriate fiscal policies and internal controls.
- Work cooperatively with the leadership team and other employees managing the fiscal affairs of the company.
- Oversee the monthly financial closing process and direct the external audit process.
- Prepare a variety of financial reports and analyses for internal and external constituents.
- Monitor and assist in managing the Company's cash position and treasury management activities.
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate staff using effective management techniques.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required.
- CPA and/or Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in financial accounting at a complex and diverse organization required (substantial experience in higher education is strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, problem-solving, organization, and presentation skills.
- Experience in a management position supervising staff required.
- Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Working knowledge of financial budgeting & modeling using Excel, CampusVue/Nexus, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Dynamics.
