About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Advocate for enterprise users using design thinking and user research
Partner with research and data teams to inform design decisions and validate solutions
Improve design quality and design-system maturity
Contribute to patterns, guides, tools, and libraries for scalable enterprise feature design
Explain and defend ideas and solutions across required mediums
Collaborate with product, engineering, and business partners on strategy and execution
Design and evolve sophisticated features for complex workflows and enterprise requirements
Establish and champion design best practices
Mentor junior team members and elevate design craft
Support product teams in launching and evolving features based on user needs, business goals, and technical constraints
Report to the Manager, Product Design

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of experience as a Product Designer, Interaction Designer, or similar role
Strong visual design skills and ability to influence design quality at the organizational level
Expertise delivering complex, scalable experiences within SaaS or enterprise environments
Leadership demonstrated through design work, mentoring, and cross-team influence
Experience facilitating design activities and design thinking workshops
Strong collaboration skills and resilience to stakeholder feedback
Understanding of design systems and design principles, including hierarchy, interaction, typography, color, layout, and accessibility
Expertise in agentic and generative design workflows
Ability to design for lovability
Degree in Design (Interaction, Product, Communication, HCD, or related) or equivalent professional experience
Role-specific eligibility to work remotely from a U.S. location where Smartsheet is a registered employer
