About the role
- Serve as a finance partner to Smarsh senior leaders across assigned functions (e.g., HR, IT, Finance, and office of CEO)
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes for your business areas
- Develop and review complex financial models to support headcount planning, investments, and strategic initiatives
- Provide proactive insights, scenario analysis, and recommendations to influence business decisions
- Track performance vs. plan, identify risks and opportunities, and drive corrective actions with stakeholders
- Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews for your functions
- Partner with Smarsh accounting to ensure accurate close, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Improve finance processes, reporting, and tools to support scale and efficiency
- Coach and mentor junior team members; directly manage analysts as the team grows
- Own the reporting relationship and outcomes with a private equity sponsor
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A, finance business partnering, or related roles, with at least some experience in SaaS
- Demonstrated experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving outcomes through insight—not just reporting
- Strong understanding of SaaS business models, revenue drivers, and unit economics
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, including executive-level presentations
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Experience operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Familiarity with accounting and FP&A systems tools (examples: Adaptive, NetSuite)
