About the role

  • Legal advisory: You will take overall responsibility for legal advice within the corporate group — from review and drafting to final decision-making.
  • Technical expertise: Your focus is on German and international civil and commercial law, German capital markets law, and advising the bodies of a publicly listed German stock corporation, complemented by complex issues in antitrust law and M&A matters.
  • Contract management: You independently manage complex international contract projects and support contract negotiations through to successful completion. In addition, you act as a Legal Buddy to support the Legal Contract Manager team on legally demanding issues and serve as a sparring partner thanks to your extensive legal experience.
  • Litigation defense: You are responsible for defending legal claims against the company and coordinate cooperation with external law firms and advisors.
  • Strategic collaboration: You work closely with the Head of Legal Services on company-wide projects of high strategic importance and, in the medium term, may have the opportunity to succeed them subject to professional and personal suitability.
  • Management advisory: You support top management with your sound expertise on legal matters that impact strategic decisions.
  • Knowledge transfer: You design and conduct training to raise employees’ awareness of legal issues and minimize risks.

Requirements

  • Legal qualification: You are a fully qualified lawyer with the German Second State Examination (Zweites Staatsexamen) or hold an internationally recognized law degree with admission to the bar.
  • Professional experience: You bring many years of relevant experience from an international company or a reputable commercial law firm — ideally in the renewable energy sector or project business.
  • Legal knowledge: You have sound knowledge of German, European and international civil and commercial law, as well as proven experience in international litigation.
  • Additional competencies: Knowledge of tax or insurance law as well as solid expertise in corporate and capital markets law, in particular German stock corporation law. Experience in compliance and governance completes your profile.
  • International orientation: You have international experience through study, work, or an additional qualification such as an LL.M., and you are fluent in English — additional language skills are welcome.
  • Advisory skills: You have a keen sense for appropriate legal strategies in complex situations and work independently, solution-oriented and with strong communication skills.
