About the role
- Lead capture strategy, execution, and delivery for international government, defense, and commercial space opportunities, with primary focus on the UK and European markets.
- Develop and execute end-to-end capture plans—from qualification through proposal submission—covering win strategy, team formation, pricing, and delivery.
- Author and lead proposal content creation, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance, and alignment with capture strategy.
- Drive proposal writing and storytelling, leveraging internal SMEs, templates, and AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) for high-quality, rapid content generation.
- Collaborate with the U.S. Capture & Proposal Team to align Shipley-standard processes, tools, and best practices, maintaining global consistency across capture operations.
- Partner with IBU Growth, Business Development, and Account Executives to identify, prioritize, and pursue international opportunities.
- Conduct financial modeling and pricing analysis in coordination with Finance to ensure competitive and sustainable deal structures.
- Perform market intelligence, competitor assessments, and price-to-win analysis for targeted opportunities.
- Cultivate strong relationships with customers, in-country partners, and global primes to position Slingshot effectively in key markets.
- Represent Slingshot at UK and international industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.
- Ensure all capture and proposal efforts comply with ITAR, EAR, FMS, and local export and procurement regulations.
- Support forecasting, pipeline development, and strategic planning for the International Business Unit.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required (field of study flexible).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in capture management, business development, or proposal leadership in international defense, space, or technology markets.
- Proven success leading and writing winning bids valued at $XM+.
- Strong grasp of government procurement frameworks (e.g., UK MOD, ESA, NATO, or other international agencies).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce technical, persuasive, and compliant proposal content.
- Willingness and ability to travel across the UK and internationally (up to 25%).
