Payroll

• Execute end-to-end US payroll processing on a biweekly/semi-monthly basis using UKG Pro (and transitioning to ADP)
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
• Validate payroll inputs including new hires, terminations, pay changes, and timekeeping data
• Process off-cycle payrolls, adjustments, and retroactive payments
• Manage multi-state payroll compliance, including tax withholdings and registrations
• Administer employee deductions including pre-tax and post-tax benefits via Bswift
• Reconcile and manage 401(k) contributions with Principal, including funding and reporting
• Process and maintain wage garnishments, levies, and child support orders in compliance with federal and state regulations
• Ensure proper handling of FSA, HSA, and other benefit-related deductions
• Support payroll tax filings, audits, and reconciliations in partnership with external providers
• Prepare and review payroll reports, including variance analysis and GL reconciliations
• Assist with year-end activities including W-2 processing and audits
• Play an active role in the migration from UKG Pro to ADP payroll platform, including parallel testing and data validation
• Collaborate on HiBob HRIS implementation to ensure seamless payroll integration
• Identify opportunities to automate payroll and accounts payable processes
• Drive process optimization initiatives across payroll workflows and controls
• Partner closely with the People Team on employee lifecycle events impacting payroll
• Work with Finance & Accounting on payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations
• Coordinate with external vendors (ADP, Principal, Bswift) for issue resolution and process alignment

Payroll Associate

General Counsel

• Build a legal function that can keep pace with a company growing in every direction at once.
• Work across commercial contracts, FinTech, artificial intelligence, employment law, IP strategy, litigation and product counseling.
• Ensure breadth and ownership across multiple practice areas and grow into a global legal role as the company scales.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including vendor contracts, SaaS agreements, partnership deals, NDAs, and data processing agreements.
• Support Slice's payments and FinTech initiatives by advising on payment processing agreements, money transmission considerations, and financial services partnerships.
• Support the People team on employment matters across US and international jurisdictions.
• Advise on hiring, terminations, leave policies, workplace investigations, and employment agreements.
• Counsel the business on trademark, copyright, and trade secret matters as Slice expands its brand.
• Manage active litigation and dispute matters, directing outside counsel and strategy.
• Draft board resolutions, written consents, and governance documents in support of the Head of Legal.
