About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the agile/scrum practice and guide sprint teams to successful sprint completion
  • Work with product owners and leadership to facilitate conversations within and outside sprint teams
  • Champion adoption of agile/scrum principles
  • Monitor team activity and guide workload commitments
  • Connect with external teams or individuals to remove ambiguity and keep sprints on schedule
  • Shield the team from external interference that could jeopardize sprint goals
  • Keep team members engaged, involved, and informed
  • Maintain data integrity, completeness, and accuracy in work-tracking and reporting tools
  • Ensure effective stand-ups, grooming, sprint planning, release planning, and retrospective meetings
  • Promote collective ownership of story completion and sprint goals
  • Ensure the team understands and commits to sprint goals
  • Provide periodic project status updates to senior management
  • Escalate unresolved impediments
  • Manage projects for the engineering team
  • Coordinate cross-functional meetings and create project plans, release plans, and other artifacts
  • Help define, measure, and improve velocity, work completed, and impediment hours

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Scrum Master experience within web engineering and familiarity with product launch cycles
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, and passionate about delivering great experiences
  • Structured and efficient in planning and coordinating projects and sprints
  • Ability to lead sprint and extended teams using agile best practices and principles
  • Ability to mentor sprint teams and external members on agile/scrum principles
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Expertise with agile and software development tools such as JIRA
  • Demonstrable history of leading agile/scrum projects for cross-functional, highly matrixed organizations
  • Ability to influence and coach senior leadership in growing the agile practice
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) required
  • PMP certification preferred
