About the role

  • Supervise a team of logistics operatives on night shifts
  • Complete daily briefings and ensure operatives understand tasks and hazards
  • Inform operatives of site duty changes and sign off POWRA where required
  • Supervise housekeeping, maneuvering of materials from off-loading points to work areas, and stock control
  • Provide general support to contractors across Hinkley Point C
  • Supervise waste segregation and removal
  • Manage, record, replenish and maintain fire points, consumables and signage within buildings
  • Ensure photo evidence is taken of 100% of materials delivered and hand over to fleet supervisor
  • Ensure delivery notes are signed and handed to fleet supervisor before end of shift
  • Supervise logistics winterisation processes during cold/freezing temperatures
  • Complete daily check-sheets, report defects and keep records for audit and data purposes
  • Deliver familiarisation/competency training and maintain training records
  • Ensure plant and equipment are maintained, fit for use, and secured if not in use
  • Supervise cleaning of spills on site including biohazard
  • Give weekly Toolbox talks and keep records
  • Coordinate and implement fire and emergency arrangements throughout the building

Requirements

  • A CITB Supervisor H&S test (to be completed before the start date)
  • SSSTS (or working towards)
  • Warehouse or construction experience
  • Previous Supervisory Experience
  • Basic IT Skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure
  • Provide evidence of the ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports where necessary
  • Ability to provide a 3-year work history and pass required vetting in line with HPC protocols
  • Must be able to obtain the HPC pass
  • Evidence of right to work in the UK
  • Desirable: Experience of working within the construction Industry
  • Desirable: Driving Licence
  • Desirable: Knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical Tooling and consumables
  • Desirable: Understanding logistics limitations and regulation
  • Desirable: Ability to read fire and emergency plans
