About the role
- Support the definition and validation of Technical Requirements and Specifications working closely with EDF Nuclear Services and the Sizewell C Design Authority.
- Manage technical Open Points and Design Changes, ensuring alignment with governance processes such as the TDF, NCC, NPWCC and our Replication Principles.
- Contribute to Design Technical Assurance across the full lifecycle.
- Manage risk through established processes and lead technical input on Early Warnings, Compensation Events, Technical Queries, and communications from the Design Supply Chain.
- Coordinate with other stakeholders and manage technical interfaces across the project.
- Ensure compliance and support delivery from requirements capture to Engineering Design Review (EDR), in line with Contract Schedules and the Integrated Work Schedule (IWS).
- Direct line management responsibility for 1 or 2 individuals, and coordination of a significant design supply chain, with a design budget in the region of £50m over the next 5 years.
Requirements
- Experience in heavy civil engineering design (reinforced concrete, structural steel) aligned with European Standards
- Skilled in design integration, team leadership, and delivery management.
- Expertise in managing complex interfaces in regulated, high-safety environments.
- Strong engineering knowledge across design processes, systems, and disciplines.
- Familiar with EPR nuclear design and NEC contract frameworks.
- Skilled in engineering documentation workflows and review procedures.
- Proficient in engineering management systems and software tools.
- Effective communicator across project teams, stakeholders, regulators, and authorities.
