About the role
- Architect Enterprise Data Solutions: Design and build scalable data lakes, lakehouses, and data mart architectures that support business-critical analytics and operations
- Lead Technical Strategy: Define data architecture roadmaps, evaluate emerging technologies, and establish architectural standards and best practices
- Design Data Pipelines: Architect robust ELT/ETL frameworks and orchestration solutions using tools like Airflow, DBT, and cloud-native services
- Enable Modern Analytics: Develop semantic models and metadata frameworks that democratize data access across the organization
- Drive Innovation: Research and implement cutting-edge solutions including AI/LLM integration, real-time streaming architectures, and advanced analytics platforms
- Mentor & Guide: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers and junior architects, fostering a culture of excellence
- Collaborate Cross-functionally: Partner with business stakeholders, data scientists, and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Optimize Performance: Design database schemas, implement optimization strategies, and ensure data governance and security standards
- Ensure Data Accuracy & Reconciliation: Implement processes to reconcile data across multiple sources, ensuring consistency, completeness, and reliability for downstream analytics
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics, or related fields
- 3+ years of proven experience architecting data engineering systems at scale
- Demonstrated success delivering production-grade data solutions for enterprise environments
- Strong knowledge of AWS services (S3, Glue, EMR, Redshift, Lambda, Step Functions, etc.)
- Big Data & Streaming Technologies: Apache Hadoop, Spark, Apache Kafka
- Cloud Data Platforms: Databricks, Snowflake
- DBT for transformation and data modeling
- Apache Airflow or equivalent orchestration platforms
- Familiar with compliance frameworks like SOC2, GDPR
