About the role
- Main interface between Sirtex and its customers for South-East Germany (Bavaria and Thuringia)
- Prospecting and initiating qualified new accounts and servicing existing accounts
- Responsible for accounts receivable issues, training, problem solving, and assisting accounts on needs
- Drive key accounts in the assigned territory and implement account plans to generate strategic relationships and sales
- Deliver selling presentations and on-site product demonstrations to physician groups and healthcare professionals
- Develop relationships across hospital departments and referral areas
- Organize peer-to-peer educational meetings and trainings to educate and influence multidisciplinary professionals
- Influence clinicians and key opinion leaders to generate or increase product awareness and use
- Understand, interpret and promote relevant clinical data to support product uptake
- Continuously educate on disease states and business environment
- Participate in national/international congresses and organize local medical educational events
- Support third party business partners in clinical trials or other programs where appropriate
- Understand health/product reimbursement related to Sirtex and the reimbursement/funding structure in Germany
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree (Pharmacology, Nursing, Business Administration, other related)
- Minimum 5 years of experience on the medical sales field in the pharmaceutical, biotech or medical devices industries; of which at least 2 years have been exclusively in a specialized hospital environment targeting consultants
- Extensive knowledge and experience in medical processes in oncology, gastroenterology or hepatology are essential
- Good existing relationships with GI oncologists, gastroenterologists, hepatologists and liver surgeons would be beneficial
- Proven track record of successful funding negotiations in Germany at the hospital level.
- Experience of strategic selling with high value products
- Experience of key opinion leader development
- Good communication skills and a straight service-, success- and sales-oriented mentality with a desire for continuous improvement
- Strong team player with good interpersonal skills
- Hunter mentality and a solution-oriented approach
- Demonstration of initiative, creativity and resourcefulness
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office
- Native speaker in German
- Advanced level of English language (written and spoken)
- Must reside in and be able to travel within the territory of scope, ideal residence Nuremberg area
