About the role
- Lead the formulation and implementation of Sirtex’s global business development strategy to expand portfolio innovation and market reach, aligning closely with oncology and interventional radiology trends
- Forge and manage high-impact partnerships, including joint ventures, licensing agreements, and acquisitions (small to medium sized deals)
- Drive deep analysis of global oncology and medical device markets to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities
- Oversee full cycle of business development transactions: opportunity sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, and contract negotiation
- Collaborate across functional teams to ensure seamless integration of strategic initiatives into operations
- Deliver compelling business cases and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
- Spearhead strategic growth initiatives and expand market share and portfolio innovation in oncology and interventional radiology
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required (MBA preferred)
- MBA and/or experience in investment banking is preferred
- Experience in medical devices/medtech is required
- Expertise in interventional radiology is preferred but not required
- Demonstrated success in executing complex deal negotiations, full cycle experience leading mergers and acquisitions (sourcing/opportunity identification, risk evaluation, due diligence, negotiating and closing deals and integration)
- Deep knowledge of device/medtech regulations and market dynamics
- Minimum of 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in business development or strategic partnerships within the healthcare or life sciences industry (strong preference for oncology or interventional radiology)
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to influence diverse stakeholders in a global context
