About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage the organization's Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring consistent execution of project management methodologies and governance.
- Establish project management standards, templates, tools, reporting, and best practices across the organization.
- Develop and maintain the enterprise project portfolio, ensuring projects align with strategic priorities.
- Evaluate organizational capacity and prioritize projects based on business value and available resources.
- Provide executive leadership with visibility into project status, risks, and resource utilization.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Directly supervise, coach, mentor, and develop Project Managers and other project management staff.
- Assign projects based on workload, expertise, and organizational priorities.
- Provide guidance and support to Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Personally lead the organization's most strategic, complex, and high-impact initiatives.
- Develop project charters, implementation strategies, budgets, communication plans, resource plans, and success metrics.
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and within approved budgets.
- Manage cross-functional teams consisting of leaders from Operations, Sales, Recruiting, Clinical Services, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Information Technology, and other departments.
- Partner with executive leadership to identify strategic initiatives and organizational priorities.
- Translate business strategies into executable project plans.
- Facilitate collaboration across departments to resolve competing priorities and improve organizational effectiveness.
- Advise leadership regarding project risks, organizational readiness, implementation planning, and resource allocation.
- Oversee project budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting across the project portfolio.
- Monitor project resource allocation and workload balancing across Project Managers.
- Evaluate project return on investment (ROI) and organizational impact.
- Ensure efficient utilization of both internal resources and third-party contractors.
- Proactively identify organizational and project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Conduct project post-mortems and lessons learned reviews.
- Promote innovation and operational improvements throughout the organization.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field required.
- 8+ years of progressively responsible project management experience.
- 3+ years of experience leading or supervising Project Managers or project management teams.
- Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.
- Experience managing third-party vendors, consultants, and implementation partners.
- Expert knowledge of project management methodologies, governance, and portfolio management.
- Proven leadership and people management skills.
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and employee development abilities.
- Excellent executive communication and presentation skills.
- Strategic planning and organizational leadership capabilities.
- Strong financial and budget management experience.
- Advanced negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to influence without direct authority across all organizational levels.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Asana, Jira, or similar platforms).
