Credit Analyst II

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides analytical support for commercial banking, including an independent analysis of creditworthiness of customers and prospects
- Analyzes current credit data, financial statements, and necessary due diligence data of individuals or companies to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money
- Prepares reports with the credit information for use in decision making of concurring approvers
- Responsible for preparing basis and comprehensive credit analyses on commercial loans that facilitate the credit approval process
- Thoroughly analyzes commercial credits exceeding $1.5 million in total credit exposure to the Bank
- Analyzes financial statements and related materials, prepares summaries, and presents facts regarding creditworthiness
- Analyzes factors such as income growth, margins, trends, quality of management, market shares, potential risks of industry and collateral appraisals
- Prepares credit and cash flow analyses; submits credit approval documents to appropriate personnel
- Monitors compliance with loan agreements
- Provides support of loan officers through financial statement spreading and analysis of new loan requests
- Participates in deal discussion meetings between lending personnel and appropriate credit officers
- Ensures departmental documents and activities are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS/BA Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field is required, and 3-5 years’ work related experience and / or training preferred
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to solve practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
