About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop short- and long-term plans to grow outdoor infrastructure lighting and controls sales with state departments of transportation
  • Grow and maintain Cooper’s market share with investor-owned utilities, cooperatives, and municipal electric utilities
  • Maintain an active presence with key specifying influences
  • Present products and solutions to DOT and municipal consulting engineering firms, lighting and landscape design firms, and others
  • Support long- and short-term project and design opportunities
  • Interface as needed with Cooper’s regional specification managers
  • Maintain top-notch agency representation in the region
  • Provide product and solutions training and support sales calls and territory events
  • Provide regular and periodic feedback to agents on performance
  • Develop corrective action plans for deficient agents and recommend upgrades or replacement when required
  • Support the post-sales group with warranty and minor field repair issues

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Marketing, Liberal Arts, or Engineering
  • Ability to use CRM and MS Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint, to develop presentations and sales tools
  • 4+ years of sales-related experience in the lighting products industry
  • Exposure to LED product lines and technology
  • DOT, municipal, and outdoor infrastructure lighting experience desirable
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship needs
