About the role
- Review, draft and negotiate a variety of contracts, including nondisclosure agreements, master service agreements and statements of work.
- Manage the entire contract lifecycle from intake and drafting to negotiation, execution, and renewal, including maintaining and managing our contract repository and electronic databases.
- Act as a primary point of contact for the sales team and other internal stakeholders, providing guidance and coordination throughout the contract lifecycle to ensure efficient and compliant deal execution.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce policies and standard operating procedures for legal and contracting processes.
- Continuously identify opportunities to accelerate contract closure by enhancing templates, streamlining negotiation workflows, and clarifying escalation guidelines.
- Act as the primary legal team interface with other departments in structuring cross-departmental functions, including the establishment and enhancement of company-wide IT systems, particularly our CLM tool.
- Manage standard and ad-hoc reporting and metrics related to contract volume, turnaround times, and other key performance indicators to inform strategic decisions.
- Work collaboratively with the team to continually identify opportunities to accelerate contract closure, respond to inquiries effectively, and develop comprehensive contracting policies.
- Be a champion for a better, faster, and simpler way of doing things within the legal and contracting functions.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a legal operations or contract management role.
- 2+ years proven experience drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, including MSAs, Order Forms, and NDAs.
- Demonstrated experience managing the full contract lifecycle process and administration in a time-sensitive environment.
- Experience managing legal technology, including CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management) tools, and managing integrations between systems.
- Familiarity with Ironclad, Zip, Salesforce, or similar platforms is a strong plus.
- A self-starter who works with minimal supervision and high integrity, while also being a strong and collaborative team player.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate legal and business concepts to a variety of audiences.
- Bachelors degree preferred
