About the role
- Serve as a primary point of contact for travel-related inquiries, providing exceptional customer service and support to HHS employees and stakeholders.
- Analyze and interpret Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) to ensure program compliance and provide clear guidance to travelers.
- Design, create, and maintain a variety of program-related documents, including policy summaries, training materials, and executive-level presentations.
- Analyze and manage complex datasets related to travel operations and client services.
- Conduct efforts to uncover cost-saving opportunities and operational inefficiencies.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and support data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with program managers, vendors, and IT to gather business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
- Recommend and implement process improvements and automation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive experience as a Travel Analyst, preferably in a government (DOD or Civilian) or public sector environment.
- Strong experience with the Federal Travel Regulation (FTR) or Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and providing guidance on travel and relocation policies.
- Proven experience in a customer-facing role, providing high-level support and resolving complex inquiries.
- Exceptional ability to design and create professional documents, reports, training materials, and executive-level presentations using tools like MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
- Must be able to work independently with limited direction; ability to multitask is critical.
- Ability to lead and work collaboratively with a team.
- Experience with Federal employee relocation processes.
- Process Mapping Experience (e.g., Visio).
- Ability to read data, analyze it, and translate it into key business decisions.
- Experience working with government-related travel programs.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including PivotTables and formulas.
- Ability to extract, clean, and analyze datasets from multiple sources to identify program trends and behaviors.
