Key responsibilities & impact

Join SignalFire’s Talent Network for Controllers at VC-backed startups
Own accounting operations, including GL, AR/AP, payroll, and revenue recognition
Manage month-end and year-end close processes
Lead external audits and coordinate with external tax and audit partners
Implement and optimize financial systems, processes, and internal controls
Partner with FP&A, Legal, and Operations to align financial data with company goals
Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and board reporting packages
Support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning with finance leadership
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
Build, mentor, and manage small accounting teams as the company scales
Submit an application to join SignalFire’s Talent Ecosystem; if matched, engage with SignalFire talent partners or portfolio-company leaders

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of progressive accounting experience
At least 2+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role
Prior experience in a venture-backed startup or high-growth environment
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and compliance frameworks
Experience managing audits and working with external accounting firms
Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems, such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Ramp, and Bill.com
CPA certification strongly preferred
Background in SaaS, fintech, or technology sectors is a plus
