About the role
- Create and revise design drawings of high voltage transmission and distribution substations including site plans, foundation plans, structural steel plans.
- Peer review of other’s drawings.
- Maintain drawing files – archived, current and working revisions.
- Update drawings to field as-built conditions.
- Teach and mentor young designers and/or new employees.
- Participate in the development and review of company standards.
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Civil Engineering/Technology preferred, but not required.
- 5+ Years’ Experience in Design of Transmission Level Substations (13.8kV – 500 kV)
- Good written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to work well with others in a team setting
- Skilled in problem solving in time-sensitive situations
- Demonstrated experience in AutoCAD (2015 or later) – Advanced, required
- MicroStation – Advanced/Intermediate, preferred
- Microsoft Word – Intermediate
- Microsoft Excel – Intermediate
- Microsoft Outlook – Intermediate.
