About the role

  • Collaborating with a team of engineers and drafters to support substation engineering design projects
  • Developing cable and conduit schedule, including sizing
  • Conducting required calculations and creating reports
  • Designing underground MV and HV cabling systems
  • Coordinating project flow and issues between all engineering disciplines
  • Assuring that all engineering documents and records are properly maintained
  • Supporting procurement of equipment including reviewing vendor proposals

Requirements

  • 2+ Years’ Experience in Design of Transmission Level Substations (13.8kV – 500 kV)
  • Practical knowledge and understanding of Engineering/Procurement/Construction types of projects.
  • Ability to develop single-line switching and protection diagrams
  • Familiarity with protective devices and ratings
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Knowledge of NEC, ANSI, NEMA, IEEE and other applicable codes and standards
  • Experience with SEL, GE, etc. relays.
