About the role
- Collaborating with a team of engineers and drafters to support substation engineering design projects
- Developing cable and conduit schedule, including sizing
- Conducting required calculations and creating reports
- Designing underground MV and HV cabling systems
- Coordinating project flow and issues between all engineering disciplines
- Assuring that all engineering documents and records are properly maintained
- Supporting procurement of equipment including reviewing vendor proposals
Requirements
- 2+ Years’ Experience in Design of Transmission Level Substations (13.8kV – 500 kV)
- Practical knowledge and understanding of Engineering/Procurement/Construction types of projects.
- Ability to develop single-line switching and protection diagrams
- Familiarity with protective devices and ratings
- Good written and verbal communications skills
- Knowledge of NEC, ANSI, NEMA, IEEE and other applicable codes and standards
- Experience with SEL, GE, etc. relays.
