Head of Sales and Business Development – UK & Europe

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive revenue across MedTech World's sponsorship, exhibition, and partnership offerings for the UK and European markets, covering all four annual summits.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of sponsors, institutional partners, government delegations, and corporate exhibitors from within the European MedTech and HealthTech ecosystem.
- Lead the full sales cycle independently, from prospecting and outreach through to proposal, negotiation, and close.
- Develop tailored commercial proposals that match sponsor and partner objectives to MedTech World's event portfolio.
- Represent MedTech World at industry events, conferences, and networking forums across Europe to build brand presence and generate leads.
- Work closely with the partnerships and marketing teams to ensure a seamless experience for sponsors and partners before, during, and after each event.
- Provide regular pipeline reports, revenue forecasts, and market intelligence to the leadership team.
- Identify and pursue new commercial opportunities across the European region, including government bodies, trade associations, accelerators, and innovation hubs.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven track record in senior sales or business development within the events, MedTech, HealthTech, or life sciences sectors.
- A strong existing network across European MedTech, HealthTech, or healthcare innovation that you can activate from day one.
- The ability to work independently without day-to-day direction, while remaining a strong and collaborative team player.
- Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and closing high-value commercial agreements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Comfort operating across multiple time zones and markets simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel across Europe and internationally for events and client meetings.
- Experience with CRM platforms and a disciplined approach to pipeline management.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Additional European languages are a strong advantage.
