About the role
- Design and deliver production-grade AI agents central to Sierra’s growth and revenue
- Drive the Agent Development Life Cycle (ADLC) with ownership from pilot through deployment and continuous iteration
- Build, tune, and evolve AI agents in production environments across industries like finance, healthcare, and commerce
- Partner with large enterprises and startups to understand business challenges and implement AI agent solutions
- Surface unmet customer needs, prototype new tools and features, and guide platform evolution
- Build industry-specific agent frameworks, integrate voice models at scale, and facilitate design partnerships for new product initiatives
- Collaborate with research, product, and platform teams to define ADLC best practices
Requirements
- Experience building and scaling end-to-end production systems
- Strong technical problem-solving skills in fast-changing, ambiguous environments
- A builder and tinkerer’s mindset with high agency
- Comfort working directly with customers to understand their needs and solve real-world problems
- Excellent communication skills - clear, direct, and persuasive across technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience building or deploying AI/LLM systems in production (preferred)
- Have been a founder or founding engineer (preferred)
- Familiarity with eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering (preferred)
- Prior experience with React, TypeScript, and/or Go (preferred)
- Previous roles interfacing with customers or leading technical projects with external stakeholders
- Ability to work from New York City (required)
