About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for the fabrication, modification, and inspection of precision tools, fixtures, and components.
Perform advanced equipment setup and maintenance, using expert precision measurement tools.
Fabricate fixtures and adhere to shop safety and best practices.
Lead the development and implementation of advanced measurement and tooling strategies.
Train and mentor junior Toolmakers and apprentices.
Develop and implement best practices for tooling processes and procedures.
Perform root cause analysis to implement corrective actions.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Typically 12+ years of related experience.
Expert knowledge of best shop practices including PPE and shop safety requirements.
Experience performing advanced equipment setup and maintenance activities, and display expert mechanical aptitude, shop tool, and hand tool competency.
Proficient in the use of precision measurement tools and fabricating fixtures for flight and non-flight assemblies.
Ability to lead and enforce 5S, FOD and ESD process.
Able to read blueprints and knowledgeable in GD&T.
Experience with metrology software (Verisurf or Spatial Analyzer preferred).
