About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage projects from design to release, including project initiation, execution, delivery, and closeout.
  • Develop, define, and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Identify necessary resources for projects and coordinate their allocation.
  • Interface with internal and external customers or field-based employees on technical matters.
  • Manage simple projects such as studies, small task orders, Internal Research and Development, Level of Effort, services only, spares, or projects with minimal deliverables.
  • Serve as a Control Account Manager on larger programs as needed.
  • Track project progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, and other performance indicators.
  • Prepare reports to keep stakeholders informed of project status.
  • Adapt to changes and remain flexible to ensure project success.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in project management and/or in a related or technical field, internships not included in total years of experience.
  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications.
  • In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of related experience is required.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a project.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills & capability to meet schedules.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Clearance.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), or similar tool is preferred.
  • Experience with developing budgets and managing projects to those budgets is preferred.
  • Experience managing project scope and scope creep during project execution is preferred.
  • Experience in resource planning and management during project execution is preferred.
  • Experience with risk management planning and documentation is preferred.
  • Familiarity with government contracting and regulations is preferred.
  • Experience with EVMS (Earned Value Management) is preferred.
