About the role
- Research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improve products and services
- Develop complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms
- Usher products from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test
- System-level ownership of new products and processes through the product lifecycle
- Support planning, execution, and management of projects for large fixed wing platforms
- Develop and maintain system requirements, architectures, and designs aligned with customer needs
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
- Prepare and present technical reports and status updates to senior management and customers
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement
- Support testing and demonstration efforts
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline
- typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
- Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- Thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with networking protocols, hardware/software interface issues, and system/subsystem integration
- Familiarity with the latest trends and best practices in systems engineering, cybersecurity, and computer networking
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
- Preferred: Advanced Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools, such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, MATLAB
- Preferred: Knowledge of industry standard mechanical design principles, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
- Preferred: Experience or certification in INCOSE standards
- Preferred: Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
- Preferred: Experience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting
- Preferred: Thorough understanding of establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM)
- Preferred: Knowledge of system integration lab operation to include hardware in the loop (HWIL) design
- Preferred: Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, CI/CD, automation, monitoring
- Preferred: Experience with virtualized and containerized environment architecture, setup, administration and deployment (e.g., vSphere, Proxmox, RHEL KVM, OpenShift)
- Preferred: ISSO Security+, CISA, or CASP+ Certification
- Must be U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce
