About the role

  • Serve as the lead engineer for one of our fuel related work packages on SAOC
  • Design and model the fuel system in CATIA 3DX
  • Work with SMEs to implement best practices for the design
  • Review the design with UMs/DERs to insure that the design is certifiable
  • Work with other IPTs to define interfaces with other work packages
  • Work with SEIT Team to create L4 and L5 system requirements
  • Provide status to the technical lead and Program Manager on a weekly basis
  • Research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve products and systems across the product lifecycle
  • Conceptualize and deliver complex mechanical structures and systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline
  • Typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
  • Experience with aircraft fuel systems
  • Understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
  • Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Experience with CATIA 3DX (preferred)
  • Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 (preferred)
  • Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal Analysis (preferred)
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry (preferred)
  • Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles including parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes (preferred)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required
