About the role
- Serve as the lead engineer for one of our fuel related work packages on SAOC
- Design and model the fuel system in CATIA 3DX
- Work with SMEs to implement best practices for the design
- Review the design with UMs/DERs to insure that the design is certifiable
- Work with other IPTs to define interfaces with other work packages
- Work with SEIT Team to create L4 and L5 system requirements
- Provide status to the technical lead and Program Manager on a weekly basis
- Research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve products and systems across the product lifecycle
- Conceptualize and deliver complex mechanical structures and systems
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline
- Typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
- Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
- Experience with aircraft fuel systems
- Understanding of engineering principles and practices
- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
- Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- Experience with CATIA 3DX (preferred)
- Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 (preferred)
- Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal Analysis (preferred)
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry (preferred)
- Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles including parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes (preferred)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship status is required
