About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain accurate financial records
Process cash receipts and ensure accurate recording in the general ledger
Prepare and manage bank deposits, ensuring timely deposits and accurate documentation
Manage accounts payable functions, including processing invoices and payments in a timely manner
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances and transactions
Conduct account analysis to verify the accuracy of transactions and balance sheet accounts
Prepare audit workpapers and documentation as requested by the Director of Finance
Assist in the coordination of the annual audit process with external auditors
Maintain organized accounting files and documentation to ensure compliance and facilitate easy access

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Proven experience in accounting, preferably in a non-profit environment
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in accounting software (Netsuite), Salesforce, and Microsoft Excel
Eager to learn and lead on new tech applications as needed
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Understand and model equity, inclusion, and justice in individual and team settings
