About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the data scientists team, fostering an environment of collaboration, continuous learning, autonomy with accountability, and alignment with the organization's strategic priorities.
- Act as a people leader, conducting management routines, performance monitoring, goal setting, feedback, individual development and strengthening team culture.
- Build and prioritize the roadmap of analytical and data science initiatives, balancing business impact, technical feasibility, deadlines and team capacity.
- Ensure technical excellence in the development of models, experiments and AI-based solutions, following best practices for validation, monitoring, documentation and continuous improvement.
- Translate business problems into structured analytical approaches and turn results into actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Foster a culture of quality and governance, ensuring data reliability, reproducibility, version control, model lifecycle management and compliance with regulatory and privacy requirements.
- Promote structured experimentation and evidence-based decision-making, disseminating analytical best practices and strengthening the maturity of data use in partner areas.
- Work cross-functionally with different business areas, including Marketing, CRM, Product and Technology, influencing stakeholders, aligning expectations and connecting the team's deliveries to the organization's strategic priorities.
- Lead the construction and evolution of models, rules and analytical solutions in production, ensuring their application in journeys, campaigns and decision-making processes, as well as monitoring performance and value generation.
- Measure and communicate the impact of initiatives, tracking adoption, performance, efficiency and business value indicators.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience in people leadership, including team management and development, goal definition, prioritization, performance monitoring and conducting feedback.
- Experience leading or acting as a senior member of data science teams, with exposure to complex analytical problems and applying models to support business decisions and process automation.
- Experience in relevant stages of the model lifecycle, including modeling, validation and monitoring of deployment in production environments.
- Strong fundamentals in statistics and machine learning, including experimental design, model performance evaluation and interpretation of results.
- Proficiency in SQL and in at least one language for analysis/modeling (Python or R).
- Ability to communicate and influence both technical and non-technical audiences, connecting analytical findings to business decisions and priorities.
- Knowledge of governance, privacy practices and LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law) applied to the use of data.
