About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Operate in the Civil and Criminal Litigation Unit of the Sicredi Administrative Center (CAS), located in Porto Alegre, providing legal support to the central and local credit unions that make up the Sicredi system, overseeing, handling and managing the portfolio of judicial and administrative proceedings under the unit’s responsibility.
Monitor, handle and manage high-complexity civil judicial and administrative proceedings (collective actions, public civil actions, etc.) together with external law firms, guiding and directing defense, appeals and settlement strategies, and providing technical support to other team members.
Analyze scenarios and different situations from the perspective of risk materialization in the courts, using interpretation of legislation, doctrine and current case law to provide input and alternative perspectives for decision-making, assessing risks and proposing viable solutions for internal clients.
Review cases, jurisprudential trends and critical concrete matters to propose business improvements aimed at preventing litigation and mitigating risks in judicial proceedings.
Draft responses to legal inquiries and legal opinions on complex topics, always using clear and accessible language for internal clients.
Develop trainings and systemic legal guidance that promote a consistent understanding of the various topics involved in the daily operations of credit unions, contribute to ongoing internal capacity building, and clarify the different aspects of the products and services Sicredi provides to its members.
Collaborate with the other management areas that compose the Legal Superintendency (Business, Products & Contracts, and Legal Operations) and with other departments within CAS.
Participate in various committees and associations, representing Sicredi.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in Law with active registration with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).
Postgraduate specialization in Civil Law and Civil Procedure.
Knowledge and practical experience in civil litigation and strategic litigation.
Ability to analyze different aspects of the same topic, teamwork, negotiation skills, self-organization, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in Civil Procedure, postgraduate specialization in Banking Law, and advanced English.
